Tekashi 69 Plea Denied? What Will Happen Now? Is it the End?

The famous hip-hop rapper, Tekashi 69, went from making racks to facing life. Tekashi (who was born Daniel Hernandez) pleaded guilty in late January to racketeering conspiracy and eight other charges and could meet a minimum of 47 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Recently Tekashi filed a plea deal for his reduced sentence because of his full cooperation including the additional crime he admitted to committing in front of the jury. In the end, a federal judge will determine Tekashi’s sentencing at a hearing scheduled 24th January 2020. However, “if the defendant successfully cooperates, the government agrees that it will file at the time of sentencing a motion… for a sentence below any mandatory minimum,” the plea deal reads.

Daniel Hernandez aka Tekashi 69 was caught along with his four associates in November 2018 which led to five years of the federal investigation, into the criminal activities of the Bloods street gang known as Nine Trey Bloods. In exchange for Tekashi cooperation, he will be eligible to witness protection, but it could also end his rap carrier.

During the initial court hearing, Tekashi pleaded not guilty and stated ” his gangster act was just a disguise to sell his song and promote them,” an artist who promotes gangster image for his profit” Lance Lazzaro said. However, the federal prosecutors believed otherwise. Among other offenses, he was believed to be personally involved in shootings, distribution of heroin, fentanyl, ecstasy, and armed robberies.

The Plea Deal

When 6ix9ine applied plea guilty, he admitted that he joined the “Nine-Trey gang” and helped them to kill a rival gang member. When Tekashi entered his plea deal, he apologized for hurting his friends, family, and fans. He also admitted he helped the gang to execute robberies at gun-point all to “maintain or increase his standing in Nine Trey.”
