The Flash Season 6; Helbing Stepping Down, Todd Helbing confirm Release Date, The Biggest Crossover Of The Year & More

Flash Season 6 is finally going to be diving head-on into “Crisis on Infinite Earths” plot. And while we knew this one was coming since the trailer five years ago, there’s still plenty of surprises lined up. Read on to find out the latest updates on what you’re looking at with The Flash Season 6.

A Confirmed Release Date!

The Flash Season 6 will premiere on CW on October 8th, 2019, in it’s traditional Tuesday night spot. And since it was confirmed by CW even before Season 5 got over, the exceptionally short wait isn’t surprising!

The Major Change

Phenomenal showrunner Todd Helbing, with The Flash from the very beginning, is stepping down this season to work for Warner Bros. Helbing took over after Andrew Kreisberg’s firing two years prior. But before you go mourning that, note this: he’s being replaced by the brilliant Eric Wallace. He too has been a longtime part of Flash as an executive producer and we can expect nothing but the best from him!

The Plot:  Action, Suspense, and Drama?

All Five Seasons of The Flash have featured distinct and different plots so we really can’t say much yet. Showrunner Todd Hebling said in a comment that, “We’ve been dropping Easter eggs, especially in the back half of the season, about next season.” We should be seeing some carry over from Season 5 then.

Most importantly, Season 6 will deal with this year’s crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths” teased in the Season 5 finale.

As we all know, the crossover from the comics stars the death of The Flash. There were hints floating around that Barry Allen’s Flash’s inevitable disappearance linked to the simultaneous multiverse crisis on Crossover would happen sometime around 2024. But the timeline has been moved up.

The implications of that could be huge.
