Why Hagrid was not in Fantastic Beasts 2? Explained

We were all thrilled when a spin-off series of Harry Potter, which acted as a prequel, was announced way back in October 2014. This opened up the possibilities of telling the stories of old character in the Harry Potter saga in this new upcoming movies.

When the younger version of Albus Dumbledore was seen in the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which was the second part in this spin-off franchise, we were excited. Many speculations were there that other characters from the Harry Potter saga would be seen in the sequel.

One of such character in rumors was Rubeus Hagrid. His possibilities of giving an appearance in the movie were high, yet we don’t see any of him in the whole movie. Maybe, this was done because they had bigger plans for him in the spin-off series.

Why Hagrid was not in Fantastic Beasts 2? Explained

The second part of the Fantastic Beasts inset in 1927, just a few months after the story of the first part ends. In this year, Hagrid was 12 years old. So he was at a tender age to be competing against dark magic.

In October 2016, J.K. Rowling announced that the series would comprise of five films. This means that the possibilities of Hagrid in the upcoming movies are not entirely lost. There could be even referenced to other character or creatures which are related to the timeline of Harry Potter.

Each movie in the franchise will release having two or two and a half year’s gap. So its third part is going to release on November 20, 2020. Let’s see, and we can find some easter egg relating to the previous franchise.
