Wolfenstein: Youngblood Trailer Showcased At E3, Action Filled Co-op Adventure

Bethesda’s E3 2019 conference can be recapped in two words only: total awesomeness. With previews of the much-awaited games like the Elder Scrolls, Doom Eternal, Deathloop and more, the conference’s main highlight was when the trailer for the new Wolfenstein sequel, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, dropped. Everybody proceeded to scream their lungs out.

The trailer for the game was a sight to behold. There was blood, there was fire, and there was a lot of stabbing and shooting.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Developer MachineGames teased us with a new look at the next game in the Wolfenstein series, Wolfenstein: Youngblood. A distant, or some can consider it as a standalone sequel to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Wolfenstein: Youngblood sets in a Nazi-occupied Paris in an alternate ’80s with BJ Blazkowicz missing.

The players occupy the role of his twin daughters, Jess and Soph. They start on a hunt to find their father while killing a whole bunch of Nazis on the way.

The game takes place in a first-person shooter format. You can play it co-operatively with a friend or AI.

The developers have also proposed a “buddy pass” system for buyers of the deluxe edition of the Wolfenstein: Youngblood. You can gift it to a friend who doesn’t own a hardcopy. It enables the “buddy” to download and play the game without purchasing it. That is, only if they play the game in the same session with the player who gifted them the pass.

The player can choose to play Wolfenstein: Youngblood as either Jess or Soph Blazkowicz. Unlike the other reboot games, players can complete missions in a non-linear manner. Also, they can unlock new abilities and weapons as they proceed further into the story.

“With even more evil Nazis to kill in Youngblood, the best part? You can kill those Nazis with a friend,” said MachineGames executive producer, Jerk Gustafsson.

Co-developed with Arkane Studios, Wolfenstein: Youngblood hits gaming platforms PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One on July 26, 2019.
