African Woman boarding with her son was humiliated by American Airline by asking her to cover her Romper Dress

A woman who was boarding with 8-year-old son was asked to cover herself as her outfit was very exposing to get into the plane and now the lady has contemplated a lawsuit against that airline

On 30th June a woman Tisha Rowe was boarding with her son in American Airlines from Kingston to Miami, and then flight attendants asked to step away from the plane to talk.

Thereafter, one of the female flight attendants asked the lady whether she possessed a jacket or something else and when the lady asked her why she is asking for a jacket then the attendant replied that she would get into the plane only if she covers herself else she will not be able to get into the plane in that romper dress.

Rowe wore an off-shoulder Romper dress in which her shoulders, legs, and hands were visible. But she replied that she was not wearing anything inappropriate and nothing inappropriate was exposed therefrom.

Rowe said :
“To me, that felt like a slap in the face, because I felt appropriately dressed,”

“But I’m being told indirectly, in front of my son that — you know, it felt like ‘you look like a slut, so let’s fix this.”

And then she ended up wrapping herself with a blanket to board the plane.

After the entire incident, she wrote about this humiliating and conservative incident on her Twitter along with a picture of the outfit she was wearing

She tweeted about her experience with a picture of the outfit she was wearing.

“We are policed for being black. Our bodies are over-sexualized as women, & we must ADJUST to make everyone around us comfortable. I have seen white women with much shorter shorts board a plane without a blink of an eye. I guess if it’s a ‘nice ass’ vs. a @Serena Booty, it’s okay…”…..she tweeted again.

American Airlines apologized Rowe for the inconvenience and said that nothing was discriminating happened there on the basis of color as both of the flight attendants were black too, and the company is investigating the matter.

American Airlines spokesperson Shannon Gilson made the following statement

Rowe’s family doctor said that 8-year child was devastated by the incident.

As per Rowe’s advocate, Berg.her son covered himself in a blanket in a plane due to embarrassment, and when she checked him, then he was crying in that blanket.

Berg said that “American Airlines has been provided the opportunity to do the ‘RIGHT THINGS,'” & that includes taking steps to “make sure that people aren’t treated this way, in particular women of color.”

Rowe’s lawyer said that she is contemplating a lawsuit against the airline.
