Daughter lived with her mother’s “skeleton remains” for 3 years in Seguin, Texas

The Seguin Police Department and the Texas Rangers have arrested Delissa Navonne Crayton, 47, on Wednesday, 10th of July 2019. The woman was charged for child injury. While searching for evidence in her house, the police found the dead body of her mother, Jacqueline Crayton.

The decomposed “skeletal remains” of Delissa’s mother were found on 7th of July 2019, in her home in Seguin, Texas.

According to the authorities, in 2016, Delissa’s mother, Jacqueline Crayton, suffered a non-life-threatening fall in her bedroom. Subsequently, she died in her bedroom several days later. However, Jacqueline Crayton could have survived easily if her daughter had taken her to the hospital in time.

Jacqueline Crayton lived with her daughter and her granddaughter in Seguin, Texas. After, Jacqueline’s death, her daughter and granddaughter continued to live there, for three years with her decomposed body.

Delissa Crayton has already been charged for “Injury to a Child under the age of 15 through recklessly, by omission, causing to a child, serious mental deficiency, impairment or injury.” The offence is a second-degree felony which could result in 2 to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000. Police say, more charges are anticipated on her.

One of late Jacqueline’s neighbour, Joel Vasquez, cannot imagine that the body of Jacqueline Crayton was found just a few feet away from his house. He said that “It’s probably like, what, 10 feet away from my bedroom window? I don’t even like coming to this side of the house anymore.” Vasquez continued saying that, “I’ve never seen anybody come and knock on our door, questioning, ‘Hey, have you seen my grandma?’… It’s like everybody forgot about her,”. Other neighbours have a lot of questions about what had happened in the clutter-filled house.

Jacqueline Crayton used to work as a secretary and a teacher’s aide in a school district in Seguin for 35 years. She retired in the year 2000.

Delissa Crayton’s teenage daughter is currently staying with her family members, according to the police.
