August 2019 sees the return of many blockbuster super hit series on Netflix. Shows like GLOW, Dear White People, and David Fincher’s dark crime drama are set to come back to our screens.
Amidst all other shows, the return of Dear White People continues to be the talk of the town. The satirical drama focuses on racial discrimination in modern American. Based on a fictional world, the story discusses several major issues at Winchester University.
It gives viewers a sneak peek into the lives of black students who suffer racial discrimination in their entire lives. A well-thought concept with a fantastically written plot is the soul of Dear White People.
Writer and director Justin Simien made a film of the same name in 2014. This television series is an adaption of the film. Justin is the writer and director for this series as well. Justin believes that this kind of shows can really educate people and eradicate discrimination for society.
The show came up with its first season on April 28, 2017. It was a ten-episode season then. After the huge success of Season 1, the show was renewed for a second season. Season-2 released on May 4, 2018. A third installment is on its way!
Each episode of this series tells the story of a character in a 30 min duration. But Season 2’s finale episode led fans down. It could not justify the whole concept. Thus fans demanded for a third season. Makers were more than happy to announce that Season 3 will return out screens next month.
Netflix revealed that Dear White People season 3 would stream on 2 August 2019 on their digital platform. Recently, they even released a trailer before the premiere.
