Donald Glover almost had a cameo in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home is roaring positively across the globe with immense success. And we now come to know that Donald Glover too had a chance of making it to the film.

After two weeks of Sony’s release, screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers revealed their intentions of having Donald back as Aaron Davis in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

“We definitely considered that. We definitely thought, ‘How great it would be to bring back Aaron Davis again,'” McKenna said. And this definitely would’ve added some more references from MCU.

Donald Glover as Aaron Davis:

Aaron Davis first made his appearance in Homecoming, a small supporting role. More known as The Prowler, a skilled cat burglar armed with a battle suit, he’s capable of firing shock waves. Peter first met Aaron Davis when he’s trying to buy stolen weapons. And later Glover proves to be useful as he helps Peter defeat the main villain, Vulture by providing information.

It would’ve definitely added some more superhero moments but it didn’t happen. The screenwriters added that due to the extensive plot and the need of a tight script, the idea had to be dropped.

“We went down that road a little bit, then the movie really spent such little time in Queens and gets to Europe pretty quickly. Some ideas you just have to give up,” McKenna said.

And Sommers added: “That’s really what it came down to. We loved that character and we wanted to do it, but we just wanted to get out of New York and get on the trip as soon as possible. There were several things we would have loved to do in New York before he left, but we just didn’t have time.”

Marvel had announced in 2017 about The Prowler’s adult animated series based on Deadpool for FX. The plans were unfortunately dropped.
