Shazam will return sooner than expected, says Zachary Levi

We might see Zachary Levi playing Shazam for the second time sooner than the expected. If we are to go by Levi’s word it seems that Warner Bros. wants to begin filming Shazam 2 sooner rather than later.

In his appearance at Germany’s CCXP cologne convention, he explained as to why he thinks that shooting for Shazam 2 will start sooner than expected. He said that he is going to have talks with his bosses about where the sequel is expected to head. But the one fact that he’s sure about is that Warner Bros, their parent studio, DC, their producers and all the executive involved in the decision making are pleased with the first Shazam achieved in its first outing. He further added that everyone wants to make the second movie even better. The story for the sequel is being developed right now as we speak.

No specifics have been revealed about when the production for Shazam 2 will begin. But Levi assured that Warner Bros would start filming soon as they are concerned about the rapidly growing child and teen actors. David F. Sandberg will return as director for the Shazam 2 whereas writer Henry Gayden is expected to pen the screenplay for the movie.

The first installment of Shazam offered audiences a completely new experience as compared to previous DC outings. Shazam took a light and more humorous approach to the story as compared to other dark entries of DC. The fans loved this new approach, and they are eagerly waiting for the next movie. The new film promises to be even funnier and lighter than the first installment all the while not losing focus from the plot.
