The New Orleans Funk legend Art Neville is no more

How and when did he die?

Art Neville, the legend of New Orleans Funk, died at the age of 81 in his house at Louisiana as confirmed by his manager Kent Sorrell on July 22, 2019. His wife Lorraine was by his death bed. Though the reason behind his death is not yet confirmed, it is assumed that this may be due to his bad health from the past few years. The American singer had suffered a severe stroke and complications from back surgery in the year 2001.

Some facts on the legendary Art Neville

• Along with singing, he was a great keyboardist.
• He was the founder of The Meters and part of Neville brothers. He joined his brothers Aaron Neville, Cyril Neville in the ’70s and the last band he worked with was The Funky Meters: the remake of the previous band Meters along with some new members.
• He started his this career in the music industry with Hawketts and the song Mardi Gras Mambo got so popular that became the Orleans Carnival Anthem.
• Cissy Strut is one of the best pieces by Neville.
• The legend retired on December 19, 2018.
• Along with nominations the keyboardist also won some great awards like Grammy.

Louisiana Governor John Edwards expressed his grief by quoting that the world lost an icon to look upon, he had a significant share of contribution in the music industry and may his soul his rest in peace. And some notable celebrities also said the same.
People like Art Neville is an inspiration and excellent example of how to pursue one’s passion and give it its best. He will be missed not only by the music industry but also his fans.
