The DC supervillain movie Black Adam will finally start it’s shooting from next year. American actor, producer Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock was busy with his upcoming movies and web series. These projects are creating a slight delay in the movie Black Adam.
Who is Black Adam?
The role of Black Adams will be played by Dwayne Johnson. Black Adam is a DC supervillain who appeared in many comic books by DC Comics. The character of Black Adam was created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck. Black Adam is an ancient Egyptian predecessor of Captain Marvel.
The character, Black Adam, has been re-designed by DC Comics writers through the years. He is portrayed as a corrupted antihero. Black Adam joined the Justice Society of America to get off Theo Adam’s evil influence. Captain Marvel too joined Justice Society of America to keep an eye on Black Adam.
The movie on Black Adam will focus on who is Black Adam and his transformation from Shazam aka Captain Marvel’s bloodthirsty villain to an anti-hero.
The actor who is playing the role of Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson is currently occupied with press meets and releases. His upcoming movies are, Jumanji: The Next Level which will be released on December 2019, Jungle Cruise in 2020 and his recent signed Netflix’s heist-thriller, Red Notice. Once the schedules wrap up, he would start the shooting of Black Adam.
The producer of Black Adam, Hiren Garcia, had confirmed that the movie is planned for shooting in late 2020. He said that “The success of Shazam! was awesome for us, and it was important for us to launch that, get that out into the world and begin crafting this universe.” Garcia continued by saying, “It’s a big thing for us to create this universe, this DC section of the universe, with characters we have planned to bring into it, headlined by Shazam and Black Adam… Jaume Collet-Serra, he just closed his deal, which we’re very excited about, and the plan is to begin filming that end of next year.”
Till now, not much has been revealed about the movie, Black Adam. We can expect that after the release of Shazam 2 and Black Adam, both the powerful characters will have a face-off. The supervillain turned anti-hero movie; Black Adam will be releasing in 2021.
