Will Cloak and Dagger, be the next defenders in the Marvel series? Earlier this week, Marvel Television announced that both the shows- Runaways and Cloak and Dagger are set for a crossover.
The American superhero television series created by Joe Pokaski stars Olivia Holt as Tandy Bowen (aka Dagger) and Audrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson (aka Cloak). After collapse of Roxxon Gulf Platform, a life changing event, both teenagers acquire superpowers. On August 2, 2018, the finale episode of Season 1- ‘Colony Collapse’ was released.
Many fans predicted the crossover, when Cloak and Dagger Season 2 (finale episode- Level Up) ended with Ty (Audrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) sitting in a bus headed west. Could Cloak and Dagger be leaving from Freeform to move to Hulu?
In issues of Runaways comic number 11 and number 12, the kids have a run-in with Cloak and Dagger. Similar, to the show, the kids’ evil parents, the Pride, frame them for murder. As, apparently announced in a press release, the Runaways/ Cloak and Dagger collaboration will happen as a part of the Hulu’s show’s upcoming third season, which is likely to release on December 13.
Season 3 of Runaways is expected to involve some new magical threats from Elizabeth Hurley’s Morgan le Fay. Maybe, then only the superpowers of Cloak and Dagger can rescue the runaway kids.
But the suspense doesn’t end here. There might be a possibility that Marvel’s Ghost Rider and Marvel’s Helstrom would be hitting Hulu, sometime in 2020. Now, if this possibility turns out to be true, Marvel Television will have four shows directly involved with supernatural threats, all in the same location and platform.
