CAST: Who’s new in Death in Paradise Series 9?

In Episode 5 of Season 9, a woman is found drowned in her bathtub. Her corpse had been discovered on the day of the inauguration of the hotel, and the authorities were called in to investigate whether it was just a suicide or was foul play involved.

As a result, after the possible homicide case, some new faces have been introduced.

Among the fresh faces to grace Saint Marie is Nicola Millbank, who is playing Emma Taylor, the hotel deputy manager who receives the new detective on the island.

Millbank has previously been seen in Mount Pleasant as Ella.

A new detective in the island

One of the major changes in the show lineup is the departure of Ardal O’Hanlon.

It had been previously announced that a new detective would be joining in his place.

The newbie, Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little), lands on the island as Jack Mooney is not exactly around to work with Selwyn.

Previously seen in The Royle Family and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Little could bring in interesting dynamics to the team.

The episode synopsis hinted at Parker’s unease at adjusting to the island life. A case which he must have preemptively assumed to be an open and shut suicide case turned out to be more complicated.
