Harrisonburg Fire Department responded to a massive fire in an apartment complex near the James Madison University in Harrisonburg on Thursday.
Although it is not clear exactly when the Fire broke out in one of the apartment complexes, Harrisonburg Fire Department responded the fire call at around noon.

JMU’s student newspaper, The Breeze also warned about the fire at advised students to avoid Southview Apartments in the 1000 block of Lois Lane.
Firefighters from Rockingham County Fire Department were also called to help the Harrisonburg FD to contain the fire.

By 1:20 pm Harrisonburg FD announced that they had evacuated all the occupants of the apartment complex.

And by 2 pm they announced that they have contained the fire.
Harrisonburg’s Fire Chief Ian Bennett will be addressing the public in a press conference to give more details about the fire.
