Stephen Amell will miss Emily Bett Rickards as she is leaving ‘Arrow’

Emily Bett Rickards has left the audience totally flabbergasted after she posted on March 30 in Instagram about dropping the role of IT technician or later dubbed as “Overwatch” for the final season of the DC’s Arrow. She had been plugging on this role since episode 3 of the first season. But she became a prominent character when Felicity and Olivier tied a knot in episode 10 of Season Six.

The crew had wrapped up the seventh season and what marked was the final filming of Rickards. The frontman of the show Stephen Amell made his daughter to sing a song for Emily on the final day of shooting of episode named “You Have Saved This City.” For which executive producer Beth Schwartz cited that the final script made everyone roll their tears down.

Following the resolution made by the actress to pull out the show, executive producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz released an official statement. The statement reads, “We’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily since Season 1 and in those past seven years she has brought one of TV’s most beloved characters to life and although we’re heartbroken to see both Emily and Felicity leave the show, we’re completely supportive of Emily and her future endeavors. Arrow is now airing on The CW and few episodes are still remaining to conclude the Season 7. But producers already mentioned that show will renew for one more season with only ten episodes aiming to provide the proper end and justification to the storyline and characters.
