Keanu Reeves confirms, Bill and Ted is finally onto the production, set for 2020 release

We all know how good Keanu Reeves is when it comes to action movies. But have you seen him in sharing the humor? Those from the 90s have probably experienced Keanu in comedy role along with his co-star Alex Winter. The last film in comedy genre was back in 1991 and since then all of his films are either action thriller or crime drama. It was the movie Bill and Ted where it is often regarded as the film that Keanu got a breakthrough.

Bill and Ted is the science-fiction comedy film about two metal-head slacker guys who travel through time. Alex Winter portrays Bill S. Preston, Esq. while Keanu Reeves portrays Theodore “Ted” Logan. Bill and Ted’s franchise is followed by Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991.) For years filmmakers only hinted about the potential third installment but it never went for production. Now finally after 28 years from the last movie, Bill and Ted’s new installment is now going for the production.

The news about Bill and Ted 3 circulated way back in 2010 when Reeves said Matheson and Solomon are working on the script. Since then the filmmakers and actors talked a lot about the possible happening of the movie but it never concluded. In February 2017 when Reeves was called for interview in Graham Norton show, he somehow revealed the plot, “Basically, they’re supposed to write a song to save the world, and they haven’t done that. The pressure of getting to save the planet, their marriages are falling apart, their kids are kind of mad at them, and then someone comes from the future and tells them if they don’t write the song it’s just not the world, it’s the universe. So they got to save the universe as a result of time is ending.” Later in October he disclosed the title as Bill Face the Music.

The movie finally started to hit the development in early 2018 but actual production was moved to June 2019. Here we are in June 2019 and the good news is the production has started. Alex Winter shared the first behind the scenes of production which is expected to conclude in August 2019. Bill and Ted are now a middle aged man with lots of family issues. It will be amazing to see how they will bring the classic version of dim-witted Bill and Ted back after very long years.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is scheduled to hit the theaters on 21st August 2020.
