Castle Rock which was first premiered on Hulu last summer is getting ready for its second season. The details are coming out slowly about the franchise. The recent news we came around is that Greg Yaitanes who directed the award-winning eighth episode of “Castle Rock” Season 1, titled “The Queen,” will also helm the premiere of the second season. Another highlight is the House of Cards’ Paul Sparks is John “Ace” Merrill in the Stephen King anthology series’ second part.
Yaitanes to IndieWire expressed that “I was happy to come in to launch the season. […] It was great to get that call.”
Sparks marked his place in the season by replacing Garrett Hedlund who has portrayed the role initially. Ace, a nephew taking over his uncle’s business is also engaged in some community problem in nearby Jerusalem’s Lot.
The Star-Studded Cast of Castle Rock Season 2
The star-studded cast of the Castle Rock season 2 seems promising. It includes the role of John Hoogenakker, Lizzie Caplan, Tim Robbins, Elsie Fisher, Yusra Warsam, Barkhad Abdi, and Matthew Alan.
Caplan, the Masters of Sex’s actress, is playing the role of Annie Wilkes. Wilkes is a nurse with mental illness while Here and Now’s Robbins is portraying cancer diagnosed crime patriarch named Reginald “Pop” Merrill. Hoogenakker’s character is still not in the known, but reports are claiming a promising role is having “a complicated connection to Annie Wilkes.”
Fisher is Joy, Annie’s teenage daughter with questions about her mother’s illness. 13 Reasons Why’s Alan will play Pop’s nephew, and Ace’s brother called Chris Merrill. Dr. Nadia Omar’s role is in Warsaw’sWarsaw’s hands, medical director of a rural hospital in Jerusalem’s Lot and Blade Runner 2049’s Abdi will be his older brother, Abdi Omar.
The creators for the next season of the American psychological horror anthology web series will be the same. Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason will carry on with their role as showrunners and executive producers. Other executive directors will be J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, Vince Calandra, and Stephen King.
Plot For the Second Season?
The story will not follow the last season’s storyline. Its an adaptation of the 1990’s Oscar-winning “Misery.” The story will revolve around Annie Wilkes’ life where she will “get waylaid in Castle Rock as a fight between two warring clans overwhelms the town,” stated IndieWire.
Schedule for Castle Rock’s Season 2 is still not unveiled. But as per reports, we can’t imagine the release before late 2019.
