“Doctor Sleep” by Mike Flanagan is based on “the shining” directed by Stanley Kubrick. It also pays homage to Stephen King’s most famous book of the same name. It follows the horror genre and going to release on 8 November 2019.

All the horror & king fans get ready for the most terrific experience ever. The doctor sleep trailer is full of throwbacks from the shining, including an ominous “redrum” spelled out on Danny’s bedroom wall. But the team confirmed only one shot in the trailer was taken from Stanley’s 1980 film. The trailer looks so scary & spine-chilling. Also, the music at the end is perfection.

STORYLINE

The story picks up 40 years after the chilling events at overlook hotel in the shining. Grown-up Danny Torrance is still traumatized by the events at the overlook. He is battling a drinking problem and the emergence of psychic powers. His attempt to live a peaceful life is shattered when he encounters a girl names Abra Stone. She is having similar skills and being hunted by a mysterious group called “the true knot.” The group that is immortal & grows stronger by killing others with magical powers.

Danny and abra engage in a brutal life or death battle.“When I was a kid, I bumped into these things. I don’t know about magic. I always called it the shining.” Danny says in the trailer.

STAR-CAST:

This movie stars Ewan McGregor as the grown-up version of The Shining’s Danny Torrance. Rebecca Ferguson has been cast as a predatory cult leader. Zahn McClarnon as the cult leader’s henchman. Kyleigh Curran will be playing the role of a girl with power “shining.” Bruce Greenwood would play the role of the girl’s doctor. Alex Essoe will also be there as Danny’s mother, Wendy Torrance.
