Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic has found it’s Elvis. It is Austin butler who is going to play the King of Rock and roll in Baz Luhrmann’s Biopic. Austin butler faced fierce competition from the likes of Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Miles Teller. It is Austin who prevailed and became Luhrmann’s King for the Elvis Presley biopic.
It’s an era where biopics on famous musicians are earning serious bucks and gaining audience acceptance. Who is more prominent than Elvis Presley, who changed the music industry drastically. The movie will cover the growth of Elvis from being a weak singer to a global icon. The video will be shown through his relationship with the manager Colonel Tom Parker. Elvis had a complicated relationship of over two decades with his manager. Tom Hanks will portray the role of Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker.

It was a journey of extensive screen testing and music and performance workshop that helped Luhrmann to make a final decision on his casting choice. It was a difficult choice for Luhrmann, and he certainly took his time to cast Austin butler for the role of Elvis Presley. Austin made is broadband debut in 2018. He was well appreciated and received active, positive reviews for his character. He will also be seen in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino movie, once upon a Time in Hollywood. Butler is currently on the big screen alongside Bill Murray, and Adam Driver in Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die.

Luhrmann and Craig Pearce co-write the screenplay. Luhrmann is also co-producing alongside the multiple-Oscar winner Catherine Martin. Martin will also be seen as a production and costume designer for the movie. She has previously collaborated with Luhrmann on movies like The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge. The shooting for movie will start early next year in Queensland, Australia, and Warner Bros Pictures will be distributing the movie worldwide.
