Princess Eugenie took to Instagram on Wednesday and her post seemingly created confusion. She celebrated her parents’ wedding anniversary despite their 1996 divorce. And this does seem a little weird because who would celebrate a divorced couple’s anniversary?
Her parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew married in 1986 but their time together ended way back in 1996. But on Wednesday, the princess posts a picture from their wedding and also added: “who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary! I’m a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago… Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together.”

Her followers quite naturally got confused with this post and it’s clear from their comments. Her parents haven’t been together since decades but “bringing up together” has made us think otherwise.
People have been assuming a lot of stuff since then; some even speculating that the pair would remarry. “It would be amazing if they were to re-marry… a first within the royal family surely?” one person wrote.
Eugenie has always left cryptic comments regarding her parents’ divorce. And while some people have preferred the thought, some also added that perhaps the princess likes to believe in the delusion of a still stable marriage. She has also added that her parents “the best divorced couple I know.” In addition, she also added that they went out of their ways to make her and her elder sister Beatrice “feel secure.”
Prince Andrew and Fergie however have parted for final as told by the former in 2010. “We are both in a better place. It’s because we are in a better place which is probably why we are able to remain such close friends. We have two great kids. We do things together as a family.”
Princess Eugenie’s family is still happy though after all.
