The eighth season of Game Of Thrones has ended on HBO in May. It was the network’s most-watched series till date.
HBO has reportedly wrapped up the shooting of the pilot episode of the prequel. The filming is going on in Northern Ireland. Now, The Song Of Ice and Fire has revealed a few details about the show in an Interview
DETAILS TEASED BY MARTIN
“The Starks will be there,” Martin said, ” The Lannisters aren’t there yet, but Casterly Rock is still there; It’s like the Rock of Gibraltor. It’s occupied by the Casterlys- for whom it’s still named after in the time of GOT.”
Martin has also revealed that Targaryens will also not be involved in this prequel series. This is because it is set 5000 years before the events of the main show much before the Targaryens.
” We talk about the seven kingdoms of Westeros; there were seven kingdoms at the time of Aegon’s conquest,” Martin added, ” But if you go back further to the story then there are nine kingdoms, and among which twelve kingdoms and eventually you get back to where there are a hundred kingdoms- and that’s the era we are talking about.”
“Obviously the White Walkers are here or as they are called in my book- The Others- and that will be an aspect of it,” Martin said, “There are things like Dire-wolves and Mammoths” Since the Targaryens were the ones to bring the Dragons to Westeros so they won’t be a part of the show.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE SHOW
Expectations from the prequel are high after Game of Thrones broke the records including the finale being the most-watched telecast on HBO. The series also received 32 Emmy nominations for this season.

One thing we all must be prepared for is to learn a lot of unpleasant backstories about the Starks. Even there will be stories about the origin of White Walkers.
There will be interesting facts about Westeros. The future, past, and present will be linked. Martin says that he won’t mind if the series is named The Long Night.
