Netflix released the LGBTQ show Orange is the new black. It later became one of the top most-watched shows. Netflix denied a new season that would’ve been the eighth.
But earlier this year, Netflix confirmed new season releases.
Orange is the new black is the creation of Jenji Kohan. The show revolves around Piper Kerman’s memoir in 2010. It is airing since 2013.
This series, with seven seasons and ninety-one episodes, makes it Netflix’s longest-running show. Although, the show fell behind after Thirteen Reasons Why and Stranger Things came out. Season seven got 5.3 million views in the US in its first three days.

Orange Is The New Black Season 8 Plot
A drama-comedy series that is set in women’s prison. The story revolves around Alex Vause and Piper Chapman. Piper lives in New York City; she gets convicted for delivering drug money to her girlfriend Alex, an international drug smuggler. Piper is sentenced to federal prison for fifteen months. This sudden conviction makes her relationship with fiance and family and friends disrupt.
The whole series showcases corruption, cuts in funding, prison privatization, brutal guards, etc. Ultimately all these factors impact prisoner’s health, safety, etc. even though it’s a prison for correction of behavior.
Alex and Piper have on/off relationship throughout the show. Prison’s Director of Human Activities Joe Caputo keeps conflicting with the MCC. He’s really into the benefits of the prisoner’s. He eventually gets fired, but the fightback for the prisoners gave some positive effect.
Orange Is The New Black Season 8 Updates
Piper’s sentence reduces, and she moves to Ohio. She leaves Alex behind. The cast remains the same with a few additions for the new start. Hopefully, season eight will highlight the life of Alex and Piper after prison. Obviously, they’ll work for criminal reforms as well as for immigrants in Ohio itself.
Fortunately, this show has a high number of viewers. Thus, fans want a final sequel season. There’s no update on the return of season eight except that it’ll return soon.
