Olivia Colman & Tobias Menzies Confirmed for The Crown Season 3, Release Date, Cast, Plot & More

The United Kingdom is celebrating the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s son “Archie Mountbatten- Windsor” the historical drama web series created by Peter Morgan will be releasing at the end of 2019.

The first season was premiered in the winter of 2016 and won the Golden Globe for “Best Drama” in 2017. The second season was released on December 2012 during Christmas.

The third season will be the continuation of the previous two series. According to Variety, this season will only cover the years 1964 to 1976.

Netflix though feels there will be a delay of season three as there is a major change of cast.

The Crown Season 3 will be focusing on Queen Elizabeth II’s rule. In this season the younger members of the royal family will come to the limelight. It will also show the decolonization of Africa and the Caribbean’s and the birth of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philips.

As well as the introduction of Prince Charles following his coronation as the Prince of Wales in 1969. It will also cover the two terms of Harold Wilson as Prime Minister.

The series will also focus on Princess Margaret’s split with Antony Armstrong Jones who played a major role in The Crown Second Season.

The show will be having a cast reshuffling, reportedly Olivia Coleman will be portraying as Queen Elizabeth II. The Outlander star Tobias Menzies has been signed to play Prince Philips for the next coming seasons.

Helena Bonham Carter will be playing an important role in this season as Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.

Josh O’ Connor will play the Prince of Wales aka Prince Charles. Erin Doherty will be playing the role of Prince Charles’s sister Princess Anne.

As per People’s Magazine Princess Diana would appear at the end of the third season and will be the focus on the following two seasons.
Marion Balley, the veteran television actress will portray the Queen Mother in The Crown season three.

As per reports both the seasons three and four are being shot together and likely to release during winter this year.

The Crown seasons one and two are available on Netflix now.
