Eminem Father is No More : Heart Attack, Has Anyone Told Eminem Yet?

According to the latest reports, we are sad to inform you that Eminem’s biological father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. who was 67, died this week.

The news was first reported by TMZ who confirmed the news on Wednesday morning. Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. who went by the name Bruce died in his week near Fort Wayne, Indiana. According to official reports, the cause of his death is being reported as a heart attack. It has not been confirmed whether Bruce was suffering from any previous Heart-related complications.

Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. son and singer Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, has been very open about his bad relationship with his biological father. He has mentioned and based many songs on his father such as “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” and “My Name Is” to show his bitter relationship with his father.

Bruce married Eminem mother Debbie when she was just 15 years old and he was 22. And after 2 years of being, they had their son, Eminem. However, Bruce left Debbie and his son Eminem when he was just 6 months old. After the split up Debbie settled back in Detroit and his father went to California, where he fathered two other children.

Eminem has been very vocal about his relationship with his dad. In interviews, he had confirmed that when he was a kid he sent numerous letters addressed to his father. However, the letters would come back unopened.

However later in life, Bruce tried to contact Eminem but Eminem didn’t respond to any of Bruce’s calls or letters. In 2001 he wrote an open letter to Eminem explaining his side of the story. He wrote: “Hello, son. You won’t remember me, though I held you in my arms when you were a baby. You think I dumped you and your mother and never came looking for you. You’re convinced I’m a drunk who never answered any of your letters. Well, I want you to read this and realize you’ve been fed lies all your life. Now you’ll hear the truth for the first time.”
