Nick Fury is one of the most important characters of Marvels Cinematic Universe, but it’s still a mystery if he will be in Black Widow or not.
Fury is a very important character who can’t be missed in the movie
The Black Widow starring Scarlett Johnson is one of the highly anticipated Marvels movies, but it looks like this time around, we won’t be seeing Nick Fury in the movie. While promoting Spiderman: Far From Home, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, told in an interview to Comics, Explained that he isn’t in Black Widow.
His favorite Marvel character is Agent Romanoff
When asked about his favorite Marvel character, Jackson said that Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, is his favorite. He told that she’s his favorite because he recruited her and whom he was closest to because of the team. He went on to say that he’s not in her beginning tale film thus far.
Folks, if we remember correctly then, Fury wasn’t the one to recruit her, but it was Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) who instead of killing her gave her a chance to be in the team. Now, we can say that if Fury’s words hold weight in the movie, then so do Jackson’s.
We might see Fury in Black Widow
Him saying that he was the one to recruit Natasha probably be a hint that he might have deliberately chosen Hawkeye to kill Natasha because probably Fury knew that being a kind person, Hawkeye wouldn’t kill Natasha. Do we smell a major scheme of Fury here? And if that’s the case, then we might have him in Black Widow to explain to the audience of his involvement in Natasha’s recruitment to the team.
If we further pay attention to his reply, he said the words “thus far.” It probably means that he hasn’t been called upon by the studio to be in the movie so far, but he might be in the future. Marvel Studios is known to run in secrecy, and many actors have been called to shoot at the end. So, it won’t be a surprise if the studio asks him to shoot his scenes at a later date.
The release date of Black Widow hasn’t been announced yet, but we know that the movie will explore the life of Natasha when she gets on the run as well as in hiding. If we go by the pictures of the current set, it looks like the movie might be set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. No one knows where Fury was around this time, but fans would love to see him in Black Widow.
