Do you all remember the Chief of MiB, Zed? Maybe yes. The same actor who portrayed Zed in Men In Black first two installments has sadly passed away at the age of 88 on 9th of July 2019.
His publicist Rick Miramontez confirmed this sad news. He said the phenomenal actor and good gentleman died at his home in Lakeville, Connecticut. The somewhat happy thing is that all his family members were by his side when he took the last breath.
Indeed the actor had plenty of good moment to cherish in the Film Industry. He spent nearly seven decades in the Entertainment field starting back from 1951. He landed a role in the 1956 black comedy-drama, Baby Doll but he was never credited for the film. As Miramontez said, the actor loved to play drama as comedy and comedy as drama. This is the fact that everyone loves his performances playing various roles.
Rip Torn was nominated for an Academy Awards for Best supporting actor in 1983’s romantic drama movie Cross Creek. But his devotion in Entertainment Industry earned him Emmy Awards in 1996 for the sitcom The Larry Sanders Show that aired between 1992 to 1998. The actor received six Emmy nominations. Playing Artie, the producer in that HBO series helped him to collect American Comedy Awards and two CableACE awards.
Will Smith, who had worked with Rip Torn in Men in Black movies, posted a tribute post on Instagram.
Rip Torn married actress and Model Amy Wright in 1989 and had six children.
