Excellent martial arts legend Bruce Lee’s daughter- Shannon Lee was battered after the portrayal of her father in the movie Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Bruce Lee had made martial arts movie which was Cutt throat of those time like entering Dragon and Fist of Fairy, and Shannon is the president of the Bruce Lee Foundation, CEO of Bruce Lee Entertainment and an innovative producer.
Once upon a time in Bollywood is a popular Telenovela written by Quentin Tarantino. In this movie, the role was played by Mike Mon. Shannon was not happy with the movie and said: “It was uncomfortable to sit in the movie theatre and listen to people laughing at my father.” In the film, Lee rivals Brad Pitt’s character Cliff Booth but could not be made Shannon happy as the proper hard work of her father was not shown in the film.
She added that ” her father came across as an arrogant a**hole who is full of hot air, and not someone who had to fight triple as hard as any accomplish what was naturally given to so many others”. Not only for her but any daughter, this would be hard to accept that her father is a topic among the people to laugh. At a point, she praised Moh for the portrayal of Lee but criticised Tarantino’s decision to direct him as a caricature.
“Given how sympathetic Tarantino’s portrayal of Steve McQueen, Jay Sharon Tate is, I’m surprised he didn’t afford the character in the film. He could have achieved the same effect using Bruce to make Brad Pitt’s character look tough without the mockery” she said.
