It looks like some of the tight-lipped curtains that Netflix has drawn around its new film ‘Eurovision’ are finally coming down. Pierce Brosnan will now star in Netflix’s upcoming comedy movie based on the Eurovision Song Contest.
What We Know About The Film
Details about the film, except that it’s definitely under production are still mostly unclear. It hasn’t even been confirmed that the Netflix original movie will be titled ‘Eurovision.’ However, we do know some things about the already signed on the cast.
The lead roles in the film are being played by Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. And telling evidence suggests that those characters are two singers from Iceland as contestants in the Eurovision song contest. The movie is also rumored to be based upon the fact that Iceland hasn’t won the contest since 1986 when it first participated.
The Crew Turning This Vision Into Reality
Experienced production designer, Paul Inglis, with a sparkling resume that boasts credits in Blade Runner 2049, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Game of Thrones, has also signed on to be a part of the film. Nigel Evans meanwhile, serves as art director for the film, bringing his wisdom earned on the sets of Spider-Man: Far From Home, War For The Planet of The Apes, Deadpool and more.
The costume designer for the film is Anna B. Sheppard who has worked on Fury and Captain America: The First Avenger. And finally, the film is being directed by David Dobkin and written by Will and Andrew Steele.
Revealed filming locations are Tel-Aviv, Israel and of course, Iceland, a huge part of the film’s story and reportedly, where it begins.

Pierce Brosnan is no stranger to musical comedies, having been involved in Mamma Mia! and Edgar Wright’s The World’s End. And we’re sure the 66-year-old actor will be a huge asset to the film, whatever role he plays!
