Randfontein, Gauteng: Fire Crew are responding to a fire at an Eskom power substation in Randfontein caused by an explosion on Saturday Morning.
The fire was reported on Saturday morning at around 9:15 a.m. local time when workers at the Eskom power substation reported an explosion to the local fire department.
The Fire Crew is on the scene and the substation was evacuated. In a tweet, Eskom official informed the people about the incident at their substation. “Eskom substation in Randfontein has exploded and is burning,” Eskom said.

Authorities are investigating the incident but so far the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
Eskom is the biggest generator and distributor of electricity in South Africa and contributes about 95% of electricity distributed in the country.
